Margaret Webb, author of “Apples to Oysters: a food lovers tour of Canadian Farms” and biodynamic farmer Michael Schmidt will be featured at a fundraising cultural event at the Aurora Cultural Centre. Ms. Webb will be reading from 3 sections of her book, selling and signing books, and Michael Schmidt will speak a little about the culture of food, and he will also conduct a small orchestra. The format is a little different than a typical concert: it’s called a cultural salon. There’s also a harp concerto, chamber music by Mozart, and a couple of dancers. Nature’s Emporium is providing all the food, and it’s a really nice afternoon out. We have donated $6000 so far to the Yellow Brick House Second Shelter, Second Chances capital campaign, since the fall.
