AURORA COMMUNITY GARDEN AGREEMENT 2016

  • I will have my garden planted by Sunday June 5th, 2016 and keep it well maintained all season.
  • I will dispose of my waste plants in the designated pile at the northwest end of the garden.
  • I will not extend my staked garden boundaries or plant outside of my assigned plot.  Extending the plot will result in my termination of gardening privileges.
  • I recognize that seeds/seedlings planted near the edge of my garden boundaries are permissible only if the plants do not grow beyond my plot boundaries.
  • If I bring a hose to the garden, I will not leave it in the path; I will not use my hose in a manner that will delay others who wish to fill their watering cans at the water station closest to their plot; I will take my hose home after each use or store it neatly within my garden boundaries.
  • I will seek the permission of the coordinator if I wish to bring large non plant related items such as chairs to the garden prior to installation.
  • I will remove all items from my garden by Sunday October 9th 2016 if I do not plan to return to the garden in 2017
  • I agree to notify the Program Coordinator if I am experiencing any difficulty with managing my plot.  Call Bronwen Fitzsimons at (905) 841-3101, ext 205 or 1-866-454-9736.
  • If I must abandon my plot I will notify the Program Coordinator.
  • I will weed my plot and weed the area immediately surrounding my plot.
  • If my plot becomes unkempt, I understand I will be informed by the Program Coordinator that I am at risk of losing garden privileges; I will be given a week to clean my plot; failure to do so will result in my dismissal from the garden.
  • I will keep my garden and surroundings clear of trash.  I will not leave any trash at the community garden.
  • I agree to clean shed tools and return them neatly to the shed.
  • I agree to take care of, and be safe with, any garden tools/equipment that I use
  • I agree to use water wisely and turn taps off tightly.
  • I will pick only my crops.  I understand that, only if given permission by another gardener, will I be able to harvest plants from their plot.
  • I will only plant tall crops where they do not shade neighbouring plots.
  • I will not bring pets into the garden.
  • I will be responsible for my children and/or group while at the garden.
  • I agree to take care and use safety precautions when gardening, especially when gardening alone.
  • I agree to use pesticides only as a last resort and in a way that will not affect other gardeners and their plots.
  • I agree to volunteer a minimum of five hours this season.
  • I UNDERSTAND THAT NEITHER YORK REGION FOOD NETWORK NOR THE LAND OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ACTIONS.  I THEREFORE AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS YORK REGION FOOD NETWORK AND THE LAND OWNERS FOR ANY LIABILITY, DAMAGE, LOSS OR CLAIM THAT OCCURS IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THE GARDEN BY ME, MY GROUP, FAMILY OR GUESTS.
  • By clicking submit, I agree I have read, understood and agree to abide with the above,
