On May 12th we are hosting a one day event for Hunger Awareness week not only bringing awareness to our poor but also our homeless.
We are having a pancake breakfast followed by a day long event that includes the following:
Out of the Cold event where participants agree to sit in a cardboard box outside the facility and collect pledges from local folks to assist our food bank. While that is going on we are hosting a fair that includes local business folk and individuals that provide a service to our community. Part of thier proceeds will be kicked back to Harvest Share to assist our meal programs. Cost of entry to this event is a bag of non perishable food.

So very true.

If people were just educated, we could make Canada a beter place to live.

Many chefs I know including myself cook seasonaly and local & 100% Canadian. It can be done year round you just need to know where to shop. It does not only help support your local farmers, it helps the local economy.

I challenge you to do it for one month.
I have been doing it for 18 years.
