Growing to Give Community Garden – Working Sessions
June 22 @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Join us for our weekly working session at the Growing to Give Community Garden in Thornhill. Everyone is welcome! At our garden sessions, we work together as a group on the garden space. There is usually a York Region Food Network staff member at the working session to help answer any questions, direct work flow and orient new gardeners. Tasks range from planting, weeding, trellising, watering, harvesting and more! Come out to meet new people, learn gardening skills and connect with the land.
Suggested items to bring include: gardening gloves, hat, sunscreen, weather appropriate clothes (ie rainjacket for rain, layers for cold/hot weather), close toed shoes, water bottle and insect repellant. We will have shared tools available. The Growing to Give Community Garden is located at the back of the Vaughan Fire Station 7-1. The address is 835 Clark Avenue West and the closest intersection is Bathurst St. and Clark Ave. We ask that you DO NOT park at the Fire Station parking lot. There is available parking at the gas station plaza beside the garden. And an alternate option is parking at the Bathurst Clark Resource Library or Promenade Mall across the street). There are no washrooms on site at the garden. The closest public washroom is at the gas station or library.
