Urban Agriculture Coordinator – Assembly Park
Rita’s journey from Dental Hygiene to urban agriculture blends her passion for food, health, and community. With a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies and experience as a dental hygienist, she has always been committed to educating others about healthy choices on overall well-being. Splitting her time between clinical practice and urban agriculture, Rita now leads community gardens at York Region Food Network, where she runs workshops on gardening, food preservation, and sustainability, while also volunteering in local initiatives.
Outside of work, Rita enjoys staying active by exploring nature, hiking, fishing, camping and skiing. She also loves yoga and Zumba workouts.
