What we do

We support food security

York Region Food Network is a community organization that offers services and programs to support food security. We also educate and advocate for actions to reduce food insecurity.

Food connects to everything from environment to culture, economy and health. YRFN hosts special events and workshop series to bring awareness and support efforts to positively improve our food system.

Food Council

A group of invested local/community organizations, municipalities, farmers and more taking a collective approach to addressing pressing issues that impact our local York Region food system

Good Food Box

Fresh vegetable/fruit boxes purchased from local farmers/suppliers, for sale to YR residents at wholesale pricing. Affordable good food.

Kitchen Programs

Cooking classes designed to build food skills, community connections, reduce social isolation and share knowledge, experiences and culture.

Urban Agriculture

YRFN’s Urban Agriculture Program gives community members a chance to connect with the land and to one another through food growing.
